Flying Brick Racing Boise, Idaho USA
A Championship Family
2013, 2014, & 2020 Club Champions
It started in 2005 when I bought a 1970 Chevy Short box to race. Not the least bit aerodynamic; in fact it was definitely a “brick”. Over the next several years, with lots of help from family and friends (especially my nephew Josh Cirelli), the truck went from a 15 second ride to a 12 second ride. Which, for a 3800 pound anvil in disguise, was fairly “flying”. Guess you can see what happens next. Yes she even wore the label proudly in her back window: The Flying Brick.
As time went on, more and more family and friends began showing up to race at various events at Firebird Raceway. It wasn’t too long until talk worked its way around to: “Hey, why don’t we form a club and race the Club Series”? We all agreed that would be great fun, but what should we call our club? Hmmmm, enter “Flying Brick Racing”. Unanimously chosen by all the members. And a great honor for the actual Flying Brick.
Even though my wife Jan and I have just retired to sunny, (and albeit occasionally pretty darned hot) Phoenix, “The Flying Brick” is still racing on in all her glory, under the very capable hands of Josh. So if you ever get bored, or maybe even curious, show up at a club racing night and look up the members of “Flying Brick Racing”. I think you’ll agree they are about the friendliest and most fun group of folks you’ll ever hope to meet!
